VK 1602 - Chipping

Dear visitor,

as you know, I have some unexpected time for modelling. Therefore I continued with my leopard. I tried my best chipping it!
Unfortunatly I am not very satisfied with the result. Actually I want to do it better this time. Actual...
I even bought new, very fine and expensive brushes for the planned chipping. Furthermore I planned not to overdo it again, and to make it more discreet. But obviously I failed...
I dont really know, what I did wrong. Or where my the mistake is. This time I avoided the sponge I normally use for chipping, in order to have more controll during the addition of the chips. I painted all the chips with a brush. It took me more than 10 hours to add all of them. But obviously while painting them, I lost the focus and added too much. The Leopard looked very colored afterwards...

Geehrter Besucher,

Luckly the second colour damped the bright chips a lot:

Afterwards I added some more filters with green and dark green oilpaints:

But I dont have pictures of the results, yet. So please look forward for the next update!

With best regards,

Florian

Happy new year! And a new project! A StuH!

Dear visitor,

a happy new year to every one!

Last year I started  a new model just before chrismas. I want to build this particular StuH:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Geehrter Besucher,

For this I ordered the following kits in order to build a StuH close to the reference pic:

In detail:

- Stug III Ausf. G 10,5cm (Dragon 9058)
- Friul ATL-27
- Armorscalse Schürzen (Field Modification)
- Aber PE Fender for Panzer III Ausf. K-M
- RB Barels for MG 34 and the 10,5cm StuH
- Towing cables for Panzer III (Eureka)
- tool clamps from LionRoar
- PE bucket from ABER
- 2 Alpine Figures for the Commander
- different resin assecoires for the engine deck

As you can see, there were some parts to put together. But the build was easier than expected. At least at the beginning!

It became really interessting as I started to build the fenders!

On the one hand to motivate myself on the other hand, without having really tought about it before, I cutted of the plastic ones. So that I really had to fight against them, and finally I beat them. But it was a though battle. ;-)

The picture above almost would have been the last picture I shot in my life. Because some days after chrismas, I had a worse accident. I fell reverse off an approximatley 2,5m high gallery onto a glass-toped table. I landed first with my backbone and afterwards with my head. Luck the glass of the table didnt break. After two days in hospital the doctores were sure, that no bone (in particular the head and backbone) was broken. Also my brain and my viscera havent suffered any injuries. I am really a very lucky guy! This accident could also have gone really wrong!

Because of my acciedent, I had a lot of time to build the StuH. Because of all that pain because of my contusions I didnt want to move too much the last week. ;-)
So I was able to finish the built the last week:
